A more connected research workflow
Arpelier is exploring how process and structural information might move more naturally among layout and design data, detailed simulation, analysis, and documentation. The central goal is to reduce the repeated work of rebuilding and translating the same structure between tools, allowing a visual process–structure model to carry useful context into the next stage of research.
An environment where people and AI work together
The direction is for AI to assist with repetitive construction and exploration from a user’s process or structural intent, while people define goals and constraints, inspect the result, revise it, and make the technical judgment. This is not a vision of replacing expertise or removing human review; it is a way to give people more room for the questions that require it.
Beyond one microfabrication domain
The language of building structures through deposition, patterning, etching, and stacking can extend beyond semiconductor devices. MEMS, displays, silicon photonics, sensors, microfluidics, and thin-film energy devices illustrate areas that could be explored over time; they are not a list of fields that Arpelier currently supports or has committed to support.
